The proposed method in essence involves the use of electrolysis to produce a coating on metals with unipolar conductivity. During this procedure, an alternating asymmetrical voltage is applied to the electrodes, with a continuous sequence of negative and positive current pulses. The electrolyte used is an aqueous solution of an alkali or of a mixture of an alkali and an alkali metal silicate. By selecting these conditions for electrolysis, it is possible to ensure that the spark-like discharges created by a particular voltage at the surface of the metal become micro-arc and then arc discharges, which promote the formation of a coating in the form of a composite substance based on ceramic oxide solid phases. |
