The electric motor has an internal rotor (10) with a free internal space (12) and a relatively spaced stator (14). The free internal space is used for housing at least part of a planetary gearing (16), with a sun wheel shaft (18), a planetary hollow wheel (20) and a planetary wheel carrier (40). The carrier plate (52) for the stator encloses the planetary hollow wheel, which may be formed integral with the carrier plate, or which has a reception seating (50) to which the carrier is secured.
