A method of preparing a two-layer sheet comprises spraying heat fusible polymer on a sheet fabric base material surface during transportation of the sheet to form a second fabric base layer. Also, a method of preparing a liquid-absorbent sheet comprises spraying a fibrous body of liquid-conveying material on the second fabric base layer so that the liquid conveyable material invades the two-layer sheet. Liquid impinging on the sheet permeates from one surface to the reverse surface without deterioration of the liquid-permeability of the sheet. Moreover, the surface of the liquid absorbing sheet material maintains dry state.
