<p>This invention relates to a continuous hot rolling method having the steps of cutting off a rear end portion of a preceding metal piece and a front end portion of a subsequent metal piece, heating the resultant metal pieces, increasing the temperature thereof, bonding the two metal pieces together by pressing them, and then subjecting the metal pieces to finishing rolling. While the metal plates are heated, subjected to a temperature increasing operation and pressed, the region of each metal piece which is between a clamping portion thereof and the end portion thereof is restrained, whereby the deformation of the end portions (front and rear end portion) of the metal pieces is prevented. <IMAGE></p> |
