发明名称 PACKET SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve throughput by efficiently utilizing a slot without changing synchronism. CONSTITUTION:In the case of satellite communication between one central station and a lot of peripheral stations while using a slot aloha system, the central station possesses and stores respective kinds of information of the number of packets received from the peirpheral stations, the arrival time of those packets and their packet lengths, based on that statistical information, an average packet length is calculated by a method weighted by the number of packets transmitted from the respective peirpheral stations, further, the time change of the packet is calculated and additionally, the slot length optimum for the conditions of a channel is calculated. The central station indicates the change of the slot length to the respective peripheral stations according to the calculated slot length but since the slot length is calculated so as not to change a frame length, the communication is not interrupted by changing the synchronism by dynamically changing the slot length. Each peirpheral station prepares the packet corresponding to the changed slot length and transmits it to the central station.
