EQUIPMENT IMPROVED FOR EXCHANGING SOLENOID SECTION FOR STARTING MOTOR ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: To provide a method and apparatus improved so that an original solenoid part mounted into an open-ended lever housing cap by a plurality of crimps can be replaced with the starter solenoid part of a starter motor assembly. CONSTITUTION: This method and apparatus include drilling into crimps so that substantially circular holes 30 that can align with outwardly open threaded ports 36 in a replacement solenoid part 14 are formed in proximity to the open end of a cap 20. Further, a plurality of screws 38 are inserted through the cap 20 and fastened into the threaded ports 36 in the replacement solenoid part. A plurality of clamp washers may also be used.
