PURPOSE:To provide a shift control device for an automatic transmission capable of preventing the occurrence of hunting and a shift shock caused by the frequent shift-up and shift-down when a vehicle is traveled on a curved road. CONSTITUTION:This shift control device for an automatic transmission is provided with a straight travel distance detecting means 11 detecting the travel distance on a straight road between two adjacent corners via the straight road, a radius of curvature detecting means 12 detecting the radius of curvature of a corner, a corner travel distance detecting means 13 detecting the travel distance at the corner, a curvature level judging means 14 judging the curvature level of the travel road based on the outputs of these three detecting means 11-13, and a shift control changing means 15 changing the shift control of the automatic transmission in response to the curvature level of the travel road judged by the judging means 14. |
