<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an acceleration converter being relatively small in size, having a high natural frequency and high strain output sensitivity, being easy to assemble and durable and having long-time stability. CONSTITUTION:An acceleration converter is constructed of a cantilever 3 made up of a follower part 3a, a flexible part 3d and a weight part 3e, a pair of strain generating plates 4 and 5, four strain gages SG1 to SG4 and a casing 1. Due to vibration, an impact or the like applied to the follower part 3a from an object of measurement, the weight part 3e is displaced relatively to the follower part 3a by a force of inertia. Then a tensile strain and a compressive strain are generated in the strain generating plates 4 and 5. Simultaneously, the shapes of the strain generating plates 4 and 5 are so changed as to swell in the same direction as the displacement of the weight part 3e by the force of inertia acting on the strain generating plates 4 and 5 and thereby a bending strain is generated. The strain generated by these tensile and compressive stains and the bending strain added thereto are detected by the the strain gages SG1 to SG4 attached to the strain generating plates 4 and 5.</p> |
