DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSOR AND METHOD FOR EXECUTING INSTRUCTION USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To increase flexibility by decreasing the number of instructions required for executing a digital signal processor(DSP) program. CONSTITUTION:A DSP 1100 is provided with an executing device 1700, condition code register(ccr) and instruction decoder 1600. Each instruction word is provided with one field for designating a data processing operation to be executed by the executing device 1700 at least and a condition code field(CC) for designating prescribed conditions and designating whether the ccr is updated or not when the data processing operation is executed by the executing device 1700. The executing device 1700 is provided with a means for generating a condition code flag. The instruction decoder 1600 is provided with a condition code decoder circuit for decoding the CC and generating a control signal to enable or disable the storage of the active condition code flag by (ccr) according to that value.
