PURPOSE:To provide a stable reference electrode which does not adversely affect a measurement by maintaining durability for a long time without the spillage of an internal liquid nor the clogging of a liquid junction. CONSTITUTION:In a reference electrode R which comprises an internal electrode 6B, an internal liquid 24 contacting the internal electrode 6B and a liquid junction 23 which is provided to be linked to the internal liquid 24 and contact a liquid to be inspected, the internal liquid 24 is made gelatinous while the liquid junction 23 is made up of a gel-impregnated hydrophilic high polymer porous body in which a chemically stable hydrophilic high polymer porous body is impregnated with a gel composition that will not dry to even when left alone in the air. |
