PURPOSE:To provide a bar code scanner good in reading performance and having its housing made thin. CONSTITUTION:An optical beam 2 is scanned with a rotary polygon mirror 40 constituted by a cylindrical concave plate where reflecting agent is deposited on a resin molded article. The beam is reflected in three directions by a central reflecting mirror 50a and two reflecting mirrors 50b and 50c which are higher than the central reflecting mirror 50a. The beam is guided to the outside of the housing 12 whose height is 6cm by a common mirror 6, and scanning lines 70a, 70b and 70c which are not parallel are formed. Reflected light 9 reflected by a bar code 8 positioned on the scanning lines passes a route opposite to the optical beam 2, reaches a condenser 10 and converged on a photosensor 11. |
