PURPOSE:To obtain a developer layer thickness regulating member capable of effectively preventing the cohesive inclination of toner so that developer can smoothly pass by forming many spiral grooves extending around a roller shaft on the surface of a regulating roller. CONSTITUTION:Many spiral grooves 3 extending around the roller shaft 2 are formed on the surface of the developer layer thickness regulating roller 1. Namely, the roller 1 has the same shape as a helical gear in substance. Such a helical gear can be used as the regulating roller as it is. Since the spiral grooves are formed on the surface of the roller 1, stirring performance is extremely improved and, as a result, the toner in the developer is effectively prevented from cohering. The developer dammed and retained is effectively and smoothly supplied to the surface of a sleeve by the rotation of the roller. |
