PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for efficiently storing the columns repeating the pattern of data for a length, which is not optimum for transfer to a memory, into the memory. CONSTITUTION: First four bytes in the column of pattern of three bytes to be repeated are loaded into the register of a processor. Afterwards, the storage of contents of the register into the memory and the update of the pattern column to the next four bytes are alternately and repeatedly performed. The update is performed by shifting the 2nd-4th bytes to the 1st-3rd bytes and moving the 2nd byte to the 4th byte. When the leading storage position for storing the pattern column is not matched with the boundary of double words, the bytes at the leading part of the pattern column are stored up to the boundary of double words, and the contents of the register are updated to the next four bytes of the pattern column. Afterwards, these storage and update are repeated. |
