PURPOSE: To improve shift characteristics by sensing the current flowing in a motor, finding errors to the target current, and adjusting the duty ratio of a control signal on the basis of a total value of the change rate of the error, in a mechanism having a shift finger to be driven by a motor. CONSTITUTION: A shift mechanism of an automated mechanical transmission 10 in which a shift finger 29 to be driven by X, Y motors 50, 52 is made to cooperate with shift rails 36, 38 and 40 to shift gears is provided with current steering means 54, 56 which responds to signals for controlling the rotational directions of respective motors 50, 52, and a controller means 16 for applying a pulse width modulation control signal of a variable duty cycle in order to apply the target current to the motors 50, 52. A controller means 16 adjusts the duty cycle of a control signal as a function of the total value of errors of the applied current of the motor and the target current and the change rate of the error, and controls force to be applied to the shift mechanism, namely, a sliding clutch and a transmission gearing. |
