PURPOSE: To provide a cable having a jacket made of a thermoplastic composition which is fire retardant and contains no halogen element. CONSTITUTION: A cable 20 has a core 22 containing a transmission medium and a jacket system containing a plastic jacket 28. The plastic jacket 28 is made from a non-crosslinked composition containing elastomer, plastomer, and a filler. The elastomer and the plastomer contain no carboxyl group to be bonded to the filler. The composition makes the plastic jacket fire retardant and has mechanical properties enough to use the cable in various application. The plastic jacket material is also suitable for manufacturing a product such as a sheet and a tile.
