PURPOSE: To provide a positioning method used for the manufacture of an optical fiber communication network for especially simplifying the manufacture of a frequency multiplexing communication network. CONSTITUTION: A transmission wave (F(2P-1)) for positioing an outside wave (F(2P-2)B) in a spectrum is modulated. The outside wave is mixed with a lateral wave (F(2P-1)A) obtained by modulation, and the positioning of the transmission wave is operated according to the change of the frequency of a beat signal (F(2P-2)BE) obtained from the mixing.
