<p>PURPOSE: To provide a new and flexible method for controlling the participation permission of a multimedia stream in a synthetic network. CONSTITUTION: The reaction of a network 20 when new connection participation in the network 20 is permitted is predicted by using a pseudo stream (traffic). The pseudo stream is established in each network link 6 and 10, and this is provided with traffic characteristics similar to an application request. After the setting of the pseudo stream, network performance is predicted for predicting the reaction of the network 20 when new application request participation is permitted. When the pseudo stream makes the network 20 close to a congestion state, the pseudo stream is interrupted, and the congestion is completely avoided, or the network 20 in the congestion state is restored to a non- congestion state. Any additional participation permission request from the network link which can not deal with the pseudo stream (that is, the link in the congestion state) is not allowable.</p> |
