PURPOSE:To obtain an air conditioner in which an indoor temperature can be accurately held at a predetermined temperature in a simple and small-sized indoor unit without using an electric heater for reheating. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner has an outdoor unit 2, an indoor unit 3 and a tube 4 for connecting the unit 2 to the unit 3, and comprises a variable number-of-revolution compressor 10 which is operated at number of revolution adapted for a load in a room, a heat exchanger 42 provided at a branch conduit 41 branched from the midway of a liquid tube 40 of the indoor unit and again combined with a liquid tube before a pressure reducing valve 16 to heat a flow regulating valve 22 and the air diffused in a room, thereby controlling the valve 22 in response to a difference between a set target diffusing temperature and air diffused temperature in the indoor unit.
