<p>PURPOSE:To provide an EL element having high brightness and a high display grade by preventing double images. CONSTITUTION:In a cross-sectional type drawing of a two-color display unit, a red light emitting element A of a first EL element is opposed to a green light emitting element B of a second EL element, and is sealed by a light transmissive insulating material 3, and the substrate 1b side of the element B is formed as a display surface. A semitransparent mirror 15 composed of amorphous SiC is formed on the reverse of the element B, and since blue emitting light of the element B is reflected and is not radiated to the back, double images created by bing reflected by a metal electrode 4 of the element A at the back are not created, so that a good quality two-color EL display unit is realized. A reflecting and transmitting characteristic of the semitransparent mirror can be controlled by a film forming condition or a film thickness of the amorphous SiC.</p> |
