PURPOSE:To positively thrust and intrude a lubricant between chain parts by providing chain guides squeezed with the passage cross sectional area in the chain traveling direction on the travel path of a chain. CONSTITUTION:A chain 5 is wound on a crank sprocket 1 connected to the crank shaft of an engine and the right and left sprockets 2, 3 provided above it to transmit the rotation of the engine to the sprockets 2, 3. Chain guides 7, 6 are provided at positions immediately before the sprockets 1, 2 in the traveling direction of the chain 5. The passage cross sectional area of the chain guides 6, 7 is formed into a squeezed shape in the traveling direction of the chain 5. A lubricant in the chain guides 6, 7 is dragged by the chain 5 and moved to the downstream side when the chain 5 is traveled, and the lubricant increased with the pressure toward the downstream side is thrust into fine gaps between pins and bushes and between bushes and rollers of the chain 5. |
