PURPOSE:To provide a safe and comfortable car by the use of a sensor to sense a human body outside of the car and its interlocking device. CONSTITUTION:A pyroelectric infrared sensor 31 is installed beside the vision mirror 33 of a car, and any human body riding on a motorcycle, etc., can be sensed if it approaches from aside or from the back and intrudes into the infrared sensing region 32. In the applicable case, an alarm is issued to the driver along with informing him about from which direction it is coming up. This on-board approaching object sensing system with the sensor 31 located near the vision mirror 33, etc., is very convenient in terms of system, allows suppressing the cost easily, and permits performing accurate sensing of human body with a high reliability to lead to offering a safe car. |
