PURPOSE:To diagnose any trouble in a lockup mechanism at a low cost with high accuracy by diagnosing trouble thereof based on a slippage condition calculated by the input shaft rotational speed of a torque converter and the output shaft rotational speed thereof calculated from a specified vehicle operational range. CONSTITUTION:A specified vehicle operational range is detected by an operational range detection means C based on the output signals of a vehicle detection means A and an engine load detection means B, and the output shaft rotational speed of a torque converter is detected by an output shaft rotational speed detection means E based on the detected vehicle operational range. A slippage condition of the torque converter is calculated by a slippage condition calculation means F based on the output shaft rotational speed and the input shaft rotational speed of the torque converter detected by an input shaft rotational speed detection means D. The trouble of the lockup mechanism is diagnosed by a trouble diagnostic means H based on a tightening releasing support condition for the lockup mechanism detected by a tightening releasing command condition detection means G, a specified vehicle operational range, and the slippage condition. |
