The invention relates to a sintering device (1) for producing cup-shaped solid electrolytes (2) which are used for separating the anode space and cathode space in sodium/sulphur cells. The previously known sintering devices (1) are expensive to manufacture and in most cases cause destruction of the uniform distribution of the sodium within the solid electrolyte material. The invention is based on the object of avoiding these disadvantages.
