The apparatus includes a magnetic plate(10) formed by laminated magnetic plates, a hall sensor(11) for generating electromotive force according to strength of magnetic field, polarity discriminators (12a, 12b) for discriminating polarity of detected magnetism, chattering attenuators (13a,13b) for filtering output signal of the polarity discriminators (12a, 12b), and a normal/abnormal state discriminator (14) for generating home position signal by inspecting timing of output signal of the chattering attenuators (13a, 13b). The identification error of a home position and the address count error is reduced by adopting assembled magnetism deposited on a path and hall sensor equipped on a self steering cart.
