The system for mixing two compounds, at least one of which is a liquid, consists of a syringe (12) with an injection tip (32), containing the first of the compounds, connected to a container (10) holding the second compound by a sleeve (14) which guides the injection end of the syringe between a first position in which it is retracted from the container and a second one in which its needle (60) pierces the cover (22) of the container, giving access to its contents. The sleeve has one end (28) shaped to fit over the container rim and its cover, and another (46) shaped to receive the injection end of the syringe and hold it in place by means of an inner sealing bush (48) and a stop collar (49). The sleeve also contains a needle guide (82) and a plug (80) to cover the tip of the needle prior to use.
