The contactor (10) includes a mobile core (12) attached to the extremity of a rotating lever which launches the pinion of a starter motor. An exterior electrode (14), attached to a bracket (16), supports a coil (18) and two windings (20,22). The coil cooperates with a fixed core (26) engaged by a sliding rod (28) attached to a mobile contact (30). The contact has a plate shape with two holes (44A,B) flanking a central hole (42). A guiding tube (32) engaged by the mobile core is also mounted inside the coil. Fixed contacts (38A,B) are provided on the contactor body.
