Braking arrangement for motor driving track esp. snow mobile

The arrangement uses hinged structures (13) which are connected between the motor and track (3). Actuators (30) ensure the movement of the hinged structures and are controlled by an operating circuit which allows braking plates (15) to be moved into an intermediate stable position. The stable position may lie between a retracted position and a further position providing maximum braking. This allows a range of braking control. A system is included to ensure the retraction of the braking plates in case of accident or when they are subjected to a force above a predetermined threshold level.
