The power saving circuit detecting the vertical/horizontal synchronous signal to save electric power when a user does not use the computer comprises a horizontal synchronous signal detector(11) converting the positive or negative signal into positive signal to produce corresponding positive DC signal; a horizontal power control means(13) and a vertical power control means(14) controlling the feeding power for a horizontal deflection means(20) and a vertical deflection means(21); a video amplifier control means(15) controlling the feeding power for a video amplifier(22); a main power control means(16) controlling the feeding power for the main power source(19); a power saving mode selection means(17) controlling the main power control means(16) according to the vertical/horizontal synchronous signal.
