The nutrition monitoring computer is in the format of a pocket calculator, with a display screen and a keyboard to allow entry of data. The computer memory holds a list of foodstuffs and their composition. The computer is programmed to accept the name and quantity of food consumed and to use this to compute the levels of various specific ingredients consumed. The entry of the name of the food causes a list of constituents to appear on the screen. Entry of the quantity of that food causes display of the total level of each constituent absorbed to be displayed. The program also allows entry of data on new foodstuffs. Where the alcohol level is being monitored a visual alarm is activated if the level is too high.
