Multinuclear metallocenes of formula (I) are new: M<1> = Gp. IVb, Vb or VIb metal; X = H, 1-10C alkyl or alkoxy, 6-10C aryl or aryloxy, 2-10C alkenyl, 7-40C aralkyl or alkaryl, 8-40C aralkenyl, OH, halo or pseudohalogen; L, L' = pi-ligand or other electron donor; k = 2 if B = M<2>, C; k = 2 or more if B = or ; R<1> = divalent hydrocarbon-contg. gp.; R<2> = H, halo or hydrocarbon-contg. gp.; R<3> = trivalent hydrocarbon-contg. residue; M<2> = Si, Ge or Sn; n = k; m = k - 1. Also claimed is a process for the prepn. of (I) (see below). Also claimed is a catalyst system contg. cpd(s). (I) and cocatalyst(s); the system can be supported and/or prepolymerised. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of olefin polymers by polymerisation of olefin(s) in the presence of this catalyst system, and moulded prods. contg. such olefin polymers. |
