Flat collector assembly for small electric motor

The flat collector includes a switching surface made up from segments (1) of carbon arranged in a circle. Each is supported on a metal segment (4) and all are supported on a core (7) made of synthetic resin. The metal segments include elements (5) ensuring that they provide a secure fixing for the carbon segments, gripping both the internal and external surfaces of the carbon. Further tongues (8) on the metal elements are arranged to ensure that the metal is securely attached to the resin support.
