Automotive air filter secured by L-shaped frame and hinge

A filter which admits air to automobile passenger cabins consists of a casing open to the inflow of air in which is a flat fan-folded filter insert sealed around the edges. The insert is secured by a projection from the housing base over the filter insert and a locking arrangement. The novelty is that the filter frame side wall (10) is a movable L-shaped locking frame (12) made of a single piece of material linked to the filter base (8) by a contiguous thin-film hinge.
