The actuator (1) has a hydraulic compensation for play consisting of a cylindrical case (2) moving in a hole (4) drilled into the cylinder head (5), a funnel-shaped element (16) inserted oil-tight into the case, accommodating a piston (12) and guiding cartridge (10). Two oil storage buffers are formed by the top of the case, the funnel-shaped element and the guiding cartridge. The buffers are connected by two or more leak notches (25,21) to a supply channel (19,20). The notch (21) can have the form of an annular groove. The funnel-shaped element reaches the top of the case ensuring a non-leaking construction.
