Oxygen@ concn. measuring system for exhaust gases of IC engine

One solid electrolyte element functions as an oxygen pump unit (18) and the other electrolyte element as an oxygen concn. measurement battery element (19). A heating unit is provided for heating the oxygen concn. sensor, and producing heat depending on a current delivered from the supply. A heating condition measuring unit measures the heat condition and produces a corresp. output signal. A control unit (24) starts the current supply to the oxygen pump unit (18) on the basis of the output signal of the heating condition measuring unit.
