Shut-off valve for pipe lines

The spherical shut-off body (1) is completely enclosed by the sealing shells (17), apart from the profile (3) of the flow direction (8). The body is positioned sliding between the shells. The shells are in turn enclosed by a valve housing (11) consisting of two identical housing parts, and are connected to each other by conventional screws (21). The sealing shells consist of two identical parts. They consist of an elastic material like plastics or rubber, e.g. silicon rubber (VQM). A rigid body, e.g. a stainless steel ring is fitted into the sealing shells.
