摘要 |
Prodn. of acid-resistant flooring comprises laying ceramic tiles in partic. on a mortar bed and filling the joints with acid-resistant cement. The novelty is that an unfilled, low-viscosity acid-resistant cement concentrate (I) is first poured into the joints, which are then packed with inert, granular fillers (II). More specifically (I) is an unmodified, unformulated acid-resistant cement based on a 2-component synthetic resin mixt., e.g. epoxy, polyester, furan, acrylic or vinyl resin etc., or on a 1-component resin such as polyurethane etc.; (II) are mineral fillers with particle size below the width of the closest joint; residues of (II) are removed from the tile surface; alternatively (I) is poured onto the surface and (II) is then sprinkled on, dispersed in the cement and introduced into the joints. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention provides a simpler and less labour intensive process (w.r.t. prior-art methods) for the prodn. of acid-resistant floor coverings, which ensures not only that even very tight joints between the tiles are filled, but also fills any open pores, cracks and splits into which acids and other liqs. could penetrate. |
