The guide light source consists of a ring fixed above the eye (Auge) of the patient. The ring is graduated with degree markings, and a light source is mounted on a slider on the ring. In laser treatment, the patient is directed to view the light source directly. Hence the eye is positioned off centre with the treatment area in the laser beam axis. The graduation on the ring is according to the TABO scale.
