The tread profile (1) of a tyre designed to rotate principally in one direction (R) includes secondary channels (3) running across the tread to the outer side of the tyre and in the same direction as tyre rotation (R). One or more principal channels (2) run in straight lines around the tyre circumference on the inner side (I) of the tyre centre line (CL). Semi-principal channels (5) run in the opposite direction to the secondary channels (3) on the outer side (O) of the centre line (CL) to given an assymetric block pattern.
