<p>This invention provides methods for the treatment or prevention of physiological disorders associated with an amy loidogenic peptide by the administration of a series of substituted naphthalenes, dihydronaphthalenes, benzofurans, benzothiophenes indoles, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts or solvates thereof. This invention also provides methods for the treatment or prevention of Alzheimer's Disease or Down's Syndrome by the administration of these same benzofurans or benzothiophenes or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.</p> |
