Cord supporting body for garden edge trimmer

The body (14) for a rotary edge trimmer head (10) has a groove forming a guide (30) for the flexible cord (20), which extends in the radial direction of the head shaft (12). The width (d1) of the inlet to the guide is greater than the maximum cord diameter. A cord-guiding eye (32) fitting in the groove forms an S-bend in which the cord is inserted, and which can be at right angles to the direction of the cord, or at 20 deg. to it at least. The eye can be of metal, with two arms detachable from the body and extending away from each other. The guide (30) can be in the cylindrical part of the body and open in both axial directions. There can be a cover over the end of the body containing the guide, and there can be two of the latter, situated symmetrically in relation to the axis of rotation.
