In the reactor core of a nuclear reactor having a low pressure loss for a coolant flowing through and high thermal dissipation from fuel rods, each of two internal elements has a lug (XVII) on the edge of an outer web (XI) at the outflow end of a grid-shaped spacer (VI) for mutually parallel rods. These two lugs (XVII) are arranged located opposite one another between two rods (VIII) in each case. Furthermore, these lugs (XVII) are inclined away from one another, and both sides of each of the two lugs (XVII) are recessed to differing degrees. The more strongly recessed edge of one lug (XVII) is located opposite the more weakly recessed edge of the other lug (XVII).
