A collapsible luggage handle has downwardly hooked members connected to the ends of the handle passing through longitudinal apertures in the luggage wall into a recessed frame at each aperture positioned on the underside of the wall and in which the members slide from a position where the handle is collapsed to a position in which each hook engages an abutment at the bottom of the frame recess with the handle raised. The gripping part of the handle is of resilient plastics and tends to collapse itself. The frames are lipped and secured by integral studs on an overlying escutcheon plate which has a recess for a monogram. |
