The fibre-optic polarimetric sensor for measuring an angular displacement of an object relative to a framework includes means (1, 3) for emitting light at one end of the optical fibre (2) with a linear polarisation, means (5, 6) for detecting and measuring, at another end of this fibre, the modification in the polarisation caused by a strain exerted on this fibre, and means for determining the angular displacement of the object (7) by analysing the polarisation thus obtained. The optical fibre is, over a fraction of its length, both secured to the object at a central point (O) and secured to the framework at first (A) and second (B) fixed points arranged on either side of the central point. This strain is constituted by a torsion of the fibre, between the two fixed points (A,B), resulting from the rotation of the object.

|
