PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of hydrogen peroxide needed for bleaching by allowing the knitted or woven fabric to be treated to pass through the hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution and the oxygen-containing head space alternately. CONSTITUTION: The fabric to be bleached 1 is passed through the usual caustic alkali aqueous solution vessel 2, the squeezing rollers 7 and into the air-tightly sealed bleaching vessel 8, and through a series of the rollers 13 and 14 alternately. The fabric 1 passes through alternately an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution of a desired concentration 9 and the oxygen-containing gas space 10 and more efficient bleaching with hydrogen peroxide can be effectively attained. |
