PURPOSE:To provide the spherical body polishing device which can turn N around a worked spherical body without making very small flaws over the polished spherical body during a polishing work, and is simple in structure. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a rotating disc body 2 with a worked spherical body 3 held between a fixed disc body 1 and the rotating disc body 2 permits the worked spherical body 3 to be rotated while being guided by a circumferential groove 4, so that the surface of the worked spherical body 3 is thereby polished in a true spherical shape. Each contact member 5 is mounted on the fixed disc body 1 by each bolt 12 at the outer side of the circumferential groove 4 in the circumferential direction. When the tip end section of each contact member 5 comes in contact with the worked spherical body 3 which rolls so as to turn around while being guided by the circumferential groove 4, the aforesaid tip end section allows the worked spherical body 3 to be turned around by 1/2pi by frictional force in the direction perpendicularly intersected with the direction of turning round. The repeat of polishing as mentioned above thereby permits the surface of the worked spherical body 3 to be uniformly polished. |
