PRODUCTION OF POLYURETHANE COMPOSITE FIBER

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane composite fiber free form adhesion between yarns and excellent in reeing property by producing a melt-spun core-sheath composite fiber consisting of a polyurethane and epsilon-capronamide and subsequently applying an aqueous emulsion containing a polyacrylic amino on the composite fiber followed by a non-aqueous oil treatment. CONSTITUTION:A polyurethane and epsilon-capronamide are separately molten and those are subjected to spinning to obtain a core-sheath composite fiber having the ratio of the polyurethane-exposed parts to the outer periphery of the cross section of the fiber, of 15%. The extruded yarn from a spinneret is treated with an aqueous emulsion containing a polyacrylic amoni of the formula ((n) is 20-20000), subsequently with a non-aqueous oil agent consisting of mainly a dimethyl polysiloxane and then wound on a bobbin. This is subjected to a drawing and relaxed-heat treatment in a manner of excellent reeling by a continuously treating apparatus for a drawing and relaxed-heat treatment to obtain a homogeneously crimped yarn.
