PURPOSE:To prevent the damage to an electric welding apparatus and a heating element and the lowering of bonding strength caused by water. CONSTITUTION:In an electric welding apparatus constituted so that a current is supplied to the heating element provided to the inner peripheral surface of the receiving mouth 18 of a joint 16 made of a thermoplastic resin to weld the spigot of a thermoplastic resin pipe 17 to the receiving mouth 18 of the joint 16, before a melting process heating a thermoplastic resin to the melting temp. thereof or higher by the heating element 20, a drying process heating the thermoplastic resin to the melting temp. thereof or lower by the heating element 20 is performed.
