PURPOSE:To make a tray securely hold an IC chip so as to improve the operating condition by providing holding claws for elastically holding the IC chip at its upper end side at corners at four diagonal corners of an object-holding hollow. CONSTITUTION:A tray A is connected to others of its series in a chain with connectors 5, 6. An IC chip B is deposited in the object-holding hollow 1 of each tray and the trays are transferred onto an automatic assembly line. When the IC chip B is put into the object-holding hollow 1, a touch of the claw 7c of a holding claw 7 at each of the lower corner end edges of the IC chip B causes leg pieces 7a, 7a to be elastically tilted backward, that is, to recoil, with their attaching points at the bottoms as the fulcrums and thus allows the IC chip B to pass through. As the claw 7c comes to the top of the IC chip B, the leg pieces 7a, 7 resume their original position and hold the IC chip B in place from above. Thus the parallel movement makes the leg pieces 7a, 7a retain the necessary elastic gripping power and they become applicable to IC chips with allowance in their size. |
