In a jib-crane in which the jib is supported by a pair of cables 3 a dynamometer 9 of an overload prevention device is mounted between a fixed part of the crane 7 and a compensating arm 4 by a tie 6 and an unequal-sided member 5. The position at which the dynamometer is mounted on the member 5 may be adjusted either by providing a series of holes 10 or by an infinitely variable spindle drive, not shown. In this way the load transmitted through the dynamometer may be controlled. |
