PURPOSE:To eliminate the fading of a developed color image and the color development of a background by providing a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler and compounded with three kinds of specific compds. on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is formed by providing a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler and containing compds. represented by formulae I, II, III on a support. By providing an intermediate layer containing non-foamable plastic fine hollow particles with an average particle size of 0.1-20mum and a percentage of hollowness of 30% or more between the thermal color forming layer and the support, color forming sensitivity can be enhanced. In the addition amts. of the compds. represented by the formulae I, II, III, with respect to one pts.wt. of the compd. represented by the formula I, the compd. represented by the formula II is pref. set to 0.01-0.10 pts.wt. and the compd. represented by the formula III is pref. set to 0.05-0.15 pts.wt. The intermediate layer containing the plastic spherical hollow particles acts as a heat insulating layer to enable the efficient utilization of heat energy from a thermal head. |
